A customer emailed me this morning. He’s just joined my Lead Site Specialists programme and wants to know…

Hi Ed, I currently do my lead pages on OptimizePress. Would you still advise me to buy your squeeze page software (Lead Site Launcher) or not?

My answer? Maybe, maybe not!

Here’s my full response…

If you like the style of squeeze pages OptimizePress creates, and your squeeze pages are getting “good to great” conversion rates then it’s probably all you need.

However, I’ve had OptimizePress for a long time, but ended up developing Lead Site Launcher because of three frustrations I had with it…

1) I found creating all three pages required for a lead site (lead/squeeze page, confirm page and download page) to be too time-consuming and complicated.

I wanted a way of quickly creating lead sites – a way that was so easy I could ask any of my staff (even non-technical) to create lead sites. I’ve achieved that with Lead Site Launcher.

2) I’ve created and tested my own style of lead page (E.g. www.EmailMarketingDynamite.com) which when combined with a great offer like a free report or ebook get up to 93% conversion rate.

Unfortunately OptimizePress doesn’t create pages that look like this, and I couldn’t work out how to customize OptimizePress, with it sitting ‘on top of’ WordPress.

Lead Site Launcher comes with four styles out of the box but a competent web developer can easily create custom branded templates too. (I’m not sure that’s possible with OptimizePress.)

3) I wanted to be able to add lead pages to any of my existing WordPress sites without having to install the OptimizePress theme – which would completely change the graphic design and layout of the entire site.

Now with Lead Site Launcher I can ask one of my team to quickly setup a new lead site in a sub-directory on EdRivis.com which is running Thesis theme without affecting said site in any way.

With all this said, OptimizePress is in my opinion one of the best WordPress themes of it’s kind on the market. It’s brilliant too, and I still use it for memberships websites.

If you’re a ‘serious player’ online then you’ll probably benefit, in a big way, from having both software tools in your web marketing war-chest.

Bye for now,

Ed.

In my first book ‘The Ultimate Web Marketing Strategy’ I revealed what is arguably the single most effective approach to using the Internet to generate sales leads.

Think of something you can offer to prospects — people who have not heard of your business yet, and don’t know your brand — free information that they would really like to get their hands on, like a special report (white paper) that blows the lid on myths in your industry or gives them valuable tips.

When you’ve brainstormed something that has a high perceived value in the mind of your prospects, create a single web page that offers that item, in return for visitors names and email addresses, (and other details if you want… but be careful not to ask for too much information at this stage.)

This special webpage, called a name squeeze page (or ‘lead page’ as I prefer to call them) should not link to any other web page, not even your main company website or homepage.

Also, your company logo should either be very small, or maybe not even displayed at all! The reason for the lack of links and branding is simple. The one and only star of the page should be the gift you’re offering for free, in return for your prospects details. Don’t put anything on your squeeze pages that can distract them from that goal.

Visitors who respond to your promotions and arrive on that page will see a form where they enter their name and email address. When they submit their details they should be automatically added to a contact database using a special online e-mail marketing service.

Once you’ve done all the above you can promote this page and start building a database of brand new names and email addresses. So the next step in this super-effective web marketing strategy is to regularly send emails to the people who enter their details on your squeeze page and join your email list.

The content of the emails you send to new subscribers should initially provide more free information and valuable advice, perhaps with a subtle sales message at the bottom.

Once a prospect has been on your email list a week or more, then you can start making sales offers. But the key is to always respect the people on your email list! Never hammer them over the head with repetitive or badly crafted sales offers, or you risk being labelled a spammer and they’ll complain and unsubscribe in droves.

Respect your list and people will stay on it longer, get more emails from you, and therefore stand more chance of buying more from you over a longer period of time.

As simple as it may sound, this tactic is the number one approach being used by some of the biggest names in the Internet Marketing industry. It’s also being used by me and other U.K. marketers to build a huge list of email subscribers, and I’m sure you can use it too.

Set up your first squeeze page today, and see how many new leads you can generate by the end of the week!

In this article I’m going to explain what a Squeeze Page is, and how they’re used by internet marketers to build big lists of emails addresses of prospective customers and clients.

Any internet marketer will tell you that the key to success is to get a big list of email subscribers who you can then promote your products and services to.

Of course one of the biggest challenges is getting that list!

Squeeze pages, if designed correctly can be very effective of getting lots of new email addresses, and is a quick and easy strategy to implement.

The term ‘squeeze’ is a shortened version of the phrase “name squeeze” – based on the idea of getting web site visitors to voluntarily submit their email address and other personal details, when they would otherwise be reluctant to do so!

Squeeze pages are a specific web page that offers the visitor something of value, in return for their email address. The offer can be a free subscription to your newsletter or blog, or more effectively – a free gift they can download.

If you decide to offer a free gift it could be anything, from a report, an audio or video file, to an Excel spreadsheet… basically anything that encourages visitors to submit their names and email addresses in return for the promised gift.

Internet marketers are then able to communicate with this list of prospects and turn them into regular buyers and customers.

As a general rule, Internet Marketers should keep the content on their Squeeze Pages to a minimum. The main goal of the page is to obtain the visitor’s email address; additional information could distract the user or cause them to “Click-Away” to a different website, so hyperlinks are very rarely used, if at all.

However, there is a science to designing these specific web pages. Just because you have one doesn’t guarantee that people will submit their name and email address. There are certain elements that a successful squeeze page must contain. A compelling title for one, and obviously the offer, or free gift that is being promised once their details have been submitted. If the offer is of no interest, or has a low ‘perceived value’ then the visitor will click away without giving their email address.

However, get them right and Squeeze Pages can be the first step in an extremely profitable web marketing strategy that puts your sales lead generation on autopilot.

If you would like a quick easy way to create these special kind of web pages for your business check out this inexpensive yet powerful squeeze page generation software which you can install on your own web site, and which makes creating squeeze pages a snap.
